Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Our mission is to provide a sense of normalcy and camaraderie to veterans, especially those wounded or disabled defending our country and freedoms, and members of their families. Service members and their families experience sacrifices that are not recognized or even understood by people unaffiliated with the military. We want to give them the opportunity to catch big catfish and be able to share their adventure with family and friends.
Our History
My passion for the outdoors-especially hunting, fishing, and trapping- has been a constant
throughout my life, with catfishing holding a special place in my heart. While catfishing may be
slimy and messy, the thrill of catching them is unmatched. After retiring from the military, I began
competing in catfish tournaments, which proved to be both a valuable learning experience and a
demanding challenge. The true inspiration for Patriot Catfishing came during a hunting trip,
when I met a disabled veteran and later invited him to join me on the water. Watching his
excitement as he reeled in fish made it clear that the experience was about far more than the
catch-it was about camaraderie, connection, and joy in the moment. From that point on, the
vision for Patriot Catfishing began to take shape, long before it became an official nonprofit.
Today, with the help of my brother Roger, an exceptional catfisherman who plays a vital role in
our fishing trips and outreach, as well as the support of generous sponsors and dedicated
volunteers, we are able to give back to fellow veterans. Our mission is rooted in gratitude for the
sacrifices made by those who served and their families, and in providing meaningful outdoor
experiences that honor their service and strengthen their sense of community.​
Meet Kevin
My name is Kevin Breedlove and I am a veteran of the United States Army with 24 years of service to my country. There is a special trust, camaraderie, and brotherhood that develops that only those that have serviced can understand. Upon my retirement, I wanted to do something meaningful to give back to my fellow service members, so I founded Patriot Catfishing, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization.
